Recent rumors have sparked multiple discussions revolving around the possibility of aCall of Duty: Warzone1980s Map. This would involve redesigning several key locations across the landscape and retheming the game environment into a 1980s Verdansk.Call of Duty: Warzonehas gone through map changes before, but several key locales could easily benefit from a 1980sWarzoneredesign.

While there is still no guarantee ofwhat will happen inCall of Duty: Warzone’sfuture, there is a heavy preference towards a map redesign. Many fans consider it a waste to simply destroy all of Verdansk, and movingCall of Duty: Warzoneinto a 1980s Verdansk theme would be a good use of already existing assets. This solution has prompted many players to speculate on what sites could benefit most from a 1980sWarzonerework beyond the brief trailer for it that recently leaked.

TheCall of Duty: Warzoneenvironment offers several potential drop locations that could easily be redesigned. For aCall of Duty1980sWarzonemap to work, the developer will need to tactically choose key locations for the rework. A majority of the city is already themed to a modern era, but some locations wouldn’t exist 40 years prior.

Stadium

One of the most iconic and often discussedlocations inCall of Duty: Warzoneis the massive Stadium. After having its roof blown off in one update, many fans speculate that a 1980s Verdansk would mean another major chance to the building. The simple answer would be for a 1980sWarzoneto be in the process of building the Stadium, as this would make the area a massive construction site where players battle in the shell of a 1980s themed Stadium environment.

Gora Dam

Another massive location to consider would betheCall of Duty: WarzoneGora Dam. This massive building is thought to power Verdansk, but in the 1980s, it may not exist as of yet. The 1980 Verdansk environment might contain a river with the Gora Dam being replaced with a valley-like locale where the massive block no longer prevents water from running. This would be a dramatic change across theCall of Duty1980sWarzonemap as the river would be refilled, and the city would have to bend around the environmental change.

Downtown

One of the biggest changes would be the size and scale of Verdansk itself, as a 1980s Verdansk would lack some of the modern city updates. While many of the builds are already designed with an older theme, the structure of the city would change as a 1980sWarzonewould be centered around different points. Many of the skyscrapers within the map would be still in construction duringaCall of Duty1980sWarzonemap environment. Commerce and culture would be centered around the bank in a 1980s Verdansk, rather than stretching towards the mountains as is seen in the modern map.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
