With such a large player base, it makes sense thatCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers discover issues so frequently. While small, strange occurrences would go unnoticed by a game with a smaller player pool,Warzonehas millions of players, each with the potential of discovering some game-breaking bug or exploit. Now,Warzoneplayers have figured out a way to avoid one of the game’s more annoying aspects.
Those that have playedCall of Duty: Warzoneare likely familiar with the gas mask, which players equip and unequip upon entering or exiting the gas, respectively. The animation to do so can lead to a player’s untimely demise fairly easily, as it takes away the ability to fire any of the player’s weapons, leaving them defenseless.

At least, that seemed to be the case. However, a newWarzoneexploitallows players to skip the animation, giving them a pretty big advantage when fighting on the edge of the circle, though it does require either a heartbeat sensor or akimbo pistols to work correctly, so it will depend on the loadout the player is rocking.
Withakimbo pistols, which also have an infinite ammo exploit, players need only be sprinting when the gas overtakes them or upon exciting the gas, avoiding the animation and equipping the gasmask. The heartbeat sensor is even easier to perform, and it allows players to stay in their current position while using it, as players simply need to have it out when the gas comes, and they’ll avoid the animation entirely.
Now, it isn’t recommended to actually use this method, as it’s clearly an exploit.Infinity Ward has banned plenty of cheaters inWarzone, and there’s a good chance that players could land themselves in hot water by using the exploit if they get reported for it, so it’s likely best to avoid the practice entirely.
While not as bad as hacking the game, which has led console players to disable crossplay, it’s still likely to be frowned upon by the community and Infinity Ward, as skipping the animation is a pretty big advantage in some scenarios. There’s a good chance that it will be patched out soon, but there’s no real telling when that will happen.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now for PC, PS4. and Xbox One.
