Modern Warfare 2Season 2launched last month, bringing back the previous game’s popular Crossbow weapon. However, fans were disappointed that the Crossbow is no longer a one-hit kill, as it was in the originalCall of Duty:Warzone. It is not the only returning weapon to receive a nerf inCall of Duty: Warzone 2,nor is this the first time that Raven Software nerfed the Crossbow in particular. However, many fans were unhappy with the change, especially given the effort it takes to unlockWarzone 2’s Crossbow.

Developers first implemented the Crossbow as a one-shot kill weapon in the firstCall of Duty: Warzone. However, Raven Software quickly realized this was overpowered and changed it so that the Crossbow’s bolts instead put targets in a Downed state.Call of Duty: Warzone 2nerfsthe weapon further so that it now takes two shots to Down a target. This appears to be part of Raven Software’s conscious decision not to include one-hit weapons in the game. Headshots are still instantly lethal but extremely difficult, given that arrows suffer from a much more extreme drop-off than other weapons.

While this may make sense from the perspective ofCall of Duty: Warzone 2’s developers, fans are unhappy with the change. As aWarzone 2player on Reddit pointed out, the Crossbow is already a single-shot weapon with a three-second reload time. Requiring two shots to Down an opponent makes the weapon far less useful than it used to be, especially given the game’s current meta.Call of Duty: Warzone 2fans are therefore calling on Raven Software to revert the Crossbow back to how it was in the previous game.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and, Xbox Series X/S
