Last week, Infinity Ward teased a new update coming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarethis week. It’s now been confirmed that the newCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdate is coming on January 22, and while full patch notes aren’t available at the time of this writing, it sounds like the update will please theMWcommunity.

As announced by Infinity Ward Sr Communications Manager Ashton Williams, theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareJanuary 22 update will add the newCrossbow weaponto the game. Players will have to complete a challenge if they want to unlock the Crossbow for their arsenal, though the exact nature of the challenge has yet to be revealed. In the meantime, theModern WarfareJanuary 22 update will also be addressing a couple of major player concerns.

First off, theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareJanuary 22 update will finally be adding more loadout slots. Players have been asking Infinity Ward for more loadout slots for months now, and starting tomorrow, they will have five additional slots to work with when it comes to putting together their custom classes.

Secondly, theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareJanuary 22 update will alsofix player collision issues. A few weeks ago, a bug caused player collision to be added to the game, with some thinking that Infinity Ward stealth-added it on purpose. Those who have been annoyed by the player collision will be happy to see it go after they download theMWJanuary 22 update.

It’s quite likely that theModern WarfareJanuary 22 update will have more fixes and other minor things, but fans will have to wait for the full patch notes to be sure. Regardless, what’s been announced is sure to please the community, as many have been looking forward to the addition of the Crossbow and additional loadout slots, not to mention a fix for the player collision issues.
