Set to be the nineteenth consecutive release for the annualCall of Dutyfirst-person shooter franchise,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2—not to be confused with the 2009 release of the same name—was first unveiled in late April of this year. While there are still plenty of unknowns concerning the title, Activision and Infinity Ward are set to drop the curtain in a worldwide reveal trailer debuting on July 11, 2025. This was confirmed by a collection oflive-actionCall of Duty: Modern Warfare-themed teaser trailers, the most recent of which features EDM musician Steve Aoki.
Dubbed the “Ultimate Team” trailer, the brief clip features Aoki sitting in a kind of troop transport vehicle alongside iconicCall of Dutycharacters like John Price and Simon “Ghost” Riley. Aoki jokes about his compatriots listening to his music ahead of the mission before showing off a cake he prepared for the occasion, prompting Price to turn to Ghost and say, “okay, we’ll leave him in the truck.” The originalCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2wasn’t known for its comedic overtones, and this trailer seemingly sets the stage for something slightly less stone-faced.

It’s hard to know exactly what will be featured in the firstCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2trailer, though it will likely focus on the game’s campaign mode. Set to be a continuation of sorts to the 2019 subseries soft reboot, it appears from the teaser trailer thatfan-favoriteCall of Dutycharacters like Ghost, Soap, and more will play important roles in what is to come. There may also be some references to the hotly-anticipatedCall of Duty: Warzonesequel, though it probably won’t be the focal point of the trailer.
There’s also a small chance that Activision and Infinity Ward will provide some hints aboutCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s rumored DMZ mode, though this isn’t especially likely. Suspected to be a new take on the hardcore formula established byEscape from Tarkov, this mode is still shrouded in mystery, and curious gamers may have to wait for some time before official details surface.
