The creative characters are one thing this series does better than any other Nintendo franchise out there.The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis no different as it features a returning cast of familiar faces along with some new ones. Some of them look plain but are memorable because of a quest or funny interaction.

Others inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomare just plain horrific looking but Link is seemingly unafraid. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t talk to anyone. Link could follow the oldBambiadage, “If you’re able to’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.” Let’s take a look then at some of the characters this young swordsman can meet in his travels.
8Beedle
Beedle doesn’t say much in the game but he is always a joy to see. He usually hangs around stables in the game and can sometimes have a rare assortment of goods. He will pay more for more ore if players want to earn Rupees fast in the game.
What is compelling about this character is his design and upbeat attitude even in a ruined world. His backpack is gigantic and yet this thinly framed man travels around with it like it was nothing. He is simply amazing and this man deserves to have his ownZeldaspinoff.
7Purah
Purah was one of the most unique characters in the first game. She was a genius scientist who accidentally shrunk herself to look like a child during an experiment. In this game, the effects of that experiment have worn off and she is now a full-grown adult. She’s even smarter than before and helps get Link off on the right track to getting Zelda back.
Completing her tutorial will grant players theParaglider inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is one of the most useful tools. Her crew of scientists are also a hoot especially when she is seen bossing them around.
6Hestu
Hestu is a returning character inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomand one of the most valuable. Like the first game, Hestu can upgrade inventory space which is criminally limited. How can Link carry hundreds of monster parts but only a couple of shields at the start?

It doesn’t make sense but that is beside the point. Hestu is useful, but he is also a source of joy as his various dances should spread a smile to the faces of players. All Hestu wants to do is dance and be merry.
5Yunobo
Yunobo was one of the weaker characters inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He was the stand-in for the Fire Sage and even though he was a Goron warrior, he didn’t act like one. He was too timid and whiny sort of like a Goron version of Shinji fromNeon Genesis Evangelion.
His demeanor is still a bit hesitant in the sequel, but his confidence has risen considerably and his heart is as warm as ever. One of the best bits about Yunobo is his introduction but mentioning anything about that will spoil things.
4Mastro
Mastro is the maestro of a traveling band called the Stable Trotters. They are tied to the quests involving unlocking the Great Fairies. These giant NPCs will help upgrade the variousarmor players can collect inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Mastro is down to one band member when players find him at the stables.
Soon the violinist will be reunited with her flute, horn, and drum band mates. What’s great about Mastro is his love of music which makes him a bit manic. Also, the character looks like Wario which cannot be a coincidence on Nintendo’s part.
3Cece
Cece is tied to one of the most involvedside quests inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. She is the head designer at Hateno Village. Cece is somehow completely fascinated by mushrooms and everyone around town is wearing her fashion trends.

Why is everyone so enamored with wearing mushrooms? Is Cece some sort of hive-mind parasite villain straight out ofThe Last of Us? Players are going to have to get to Hateno Village on the double to find out what makes this character so compelling beyond her oddball fashion.
2Kilton And Koltin
Kilton and Koltin are two of the creepiest designed characters in the game. They both look like vampire egg people. Koltin wants Bubbul Gems so that he can one day turn into a majestic beast.
Giving him Bubbul Gems will unlock monster masks, so in a way, these two vendors are like the latest version of the Happy Mask Salesman who first appeared inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It will be hard to get their images out of your head anytime soon, but despite their horrific looks, they are nice people.
1Addison
Addison is a new hire for Hudson Construction who is in charge of rebuilding the kingdom. Addison appears by Hudson Construction signs that are falling over. He loves Hudson so much that he believes it would be a crime to leave these signs on the ground. This dude is dedicated to his job and is persistent about perfection.
Players have to help Addison move on by fixing these signs for him through the various new abilities inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomlike Ultrahand. Addison is the true hero of Hyrule and a funny one to boot.
