Summary

Fans who cannot get enough ofMortal Kombat’s lore and charactershave a reason to delve into the recently launched mobile counterpart,Mortal Kombat: Onslaught. With a huge cast of Kombatants to choose from and experiment with, it can be often at times quite overwhelming to put together the best team.

The bestMortal Kombat: Onslaughtcharacters are compiled broadly in terms of their stats and abilities, their synergy in a team, and what the current meta dictates for these Kombatants in terms of their tier.

Shadowmancer Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat Onslaught

5Shadowmancer Noob Saibot

The 5-star rated Shadowmancer Noob Saibot is the best defensive support Kombatant in the game. This makes him an integral part of any team as his Shadow Embrace special ability isone of the best at providing healing to party members, where the restoration is 34% of max health.

His passive ability, Ethereal Form, can reduce incoming special damage on team members up to 30% with a special block bonus to any ally of the Brother of Shadow, for example, Quan Chi. Noob Saibot’s Shadow Assault auto is a multipurpose ability that will deal damage and drain the enemy’s special meter. Upon performing the third combo attack in his arsenal, Noob Saibot can steal 20% of the enemy’s special meter instead, which quickly builds up his Special Ability for a quick heal to party members. The Kombatant is ranked S across all tier lists for his excellent support role.

Undying Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat Onslaught

4Undying Shao Kahn

In terms of the Tank class, Undying Shao Kahn is the strongest Komabatant that players can launch their offense with. Shao Kahn’s resilience comes from his high health pool coupled with his very strong Passive ability, Kahn’s Fury, which does two things: applies a huge attack buff at 60% of health and immediately revives the character upon getting KO’d for the first time while restoring 30% of his health. It is indeed very tough to put down Shao Kahn. His special ability, Dragon Scales, is very good for interrupting the enemy’s special abilities thanks to his Taunt, which locks his foes to merely land standard attacks on him.

Both Auto abilities of Kahn are very effective at whittling down enemy health bars with Kahn’s Wrath allowing him to gain a 100% critical chance buff for his next attack, while Shoulder Charge inflicts high damage and stun duration which is only alleviated with his level 3 combo. The “Tenderizer” level 3 combo attack will increase damage output on the Shoulder Charge by 50% and increase knockdown duration by 6 seconds. Kahn is currently the best S-tier tank character in the game.

Razor Hat Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat Onslaught

3Razor Hat Kung Lao

Kung Lao excels at close-ranged melee combat, naturally fitting in the Attacker class. The versatility and hard-hitting attacks of Kung Lao make him a good option to use against Tank enemies. His passive, Razor Hat, inflicts bleed status effects on enemies for damage over time while providing an 8% addition to his special meter.

Speaking of special meter, his special ability named Shaved Thin will send out his hat as a ranged projectile for inflicting decent damage on up to 4 enemies. This is a great crowd control move that compliments the area-of-effect (AoE) attacks that Kung Lao benefits from through his level 1 and level 3 combo attacks. These upgrades will change his usual single-target melee Autos to AoE attacks for bleed damage and even life-steal. Kung Lao lacks a little in terms of synergy with other team members as there is no specific bonus granted to him if paired up with other Kombatants. Razor Hat variation of Kung Lao has consistently been S tier for his attack class.

Deadeye Erron Black in Mortal Kombat Onslaught

2Deadeye Erron Black

Deadeye Erron Black is a little different in what he brings to the table compared with other S-tier characters inMortal Kombat: Onslaught. The Kombatant is synergy-oriented so depending on the team members, Erron Black can shine as high as S-tier or under-perform to reach a decent tier at A. His passive is all aboutmaxing out Critical hit damagefor himself and his allies that are of a Body Affinity type, which, thankfully, is associated with some top-tier assault characters including Wind God Fujin, Hellfire Scorpion, and Undying Shao Kahn. This means the critical damage may increase up to 50% with his Erron Black’s Sniper’s Luck passive ability.

Erron Black is a critical hit master, as even one of his Auto abilities, Deal in Lead, will inflict the Marked status effect on enemies that offer a high chance of any incoming damage on them being converted to critical hits. His special, Black Dragon Mark, can increase the duration of marked enemies to 14 seconds while dealing damage, ensuring an almost quick KO for that foe. Finally, his combo attacks will allow him to deploy his Marked status effect as an AoE attack for multiple targets. Deadeye Erron Black hits hard and works wonders for tough battles as long as he is paired with Kombatants of the right affinity type.

Fire God Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat Onslaught

1Fire God Liu Kang

This is a well-rounded character that has no dependency of synergy upon any particular teammate, so Fire God Liu Kang will work well with most Kombatants. His ranged AoE attacks will grant him a defense boost through his Auto while unlocking a level 3 combo attack for this move will deal additional damage and even perform a knock-up effect.

Liu Kang’s special move, Elder Fury, will unleash huge AoE damage onto enemies, followed by a flashy level 3 combo attack of a dragon breath fire for further damage over time, which also grants him defense and block boost in the process. Both of hisPassives also deal a counter-attackevery time he receives any damage, with one also charging his special meter gain in the process. Such characteristics of his moves make Liu Kang a very self-sufficient Kombatant who can pair well with almost any member of the game’s roster. Fire God Liu Kang ranges from A to S rank across tier lists.
