Even a few years later,Battlefield 5is still an amazing-looking game. It’sthe whole package, from the draw distances, to smaller details in the environment like the snow and rain, it’s still one of the better-looking games today.DICEhas been touting the Frostbyte Engine for many years now, and each upgrade the engine gets shows how powerful and important it is since it runs several other games outside thefranchise.SinceDICEreleasedBattlefield 2042,Battlefield 5still holds it own against it for many reasons, not just in looks but in gameplay. The fact that it runs well now makes it a great time for players new and old to jump back in or start it fresh.

However, regardless of when itcame out, it’s still a heavy game onPCand does use a lot of resources. Even the high-end users still have issues and bring settings down to have a fluid time playing. The Frostbyte Engine requires a lot of power and resources, and players should apply these settings to fully harness the power of the engine without compromising performance, regardless of the specs of the user.

5Turning Off Future Frame Rendering

Players who understand input lag will understand how it can hamper gameplay, especially in a game likeBattlefield 5which requires the press of a mouse or key to be in sync with what the character is doing on screen. While the gunsmakeup one-half, how the player’s PC affects them makes up another part of the equation. The input lag can make perfect guns feel awful just based on how out of sync they are for players.

Being one of the better gamesto feature snipers, players who pick scouts may want to turn this setting off because the snipersare sensitive when they shoot, therefore if there’s lag it’ll throw things being off and make it worse for players. When the setting is turned off, players will note that it will lose some smoothness. This is because it’s outputting more frames but at the same time making the input one-to-one with what the player is doing. While it’s not that drastic of a change graphically, meaning players may not even notice it, it’s still a good idea to do even if players are a using higher-end PC.

To turn off this setting, players should go into the settings, then go into the Video tab, click advanced, and scroll till they see Future Frame Rendering and set it to off. That player will get a boost.

4Lowering The Field Of View

Having this setting on paper maxed out works wonders because the more field of view players have while aiming or shooting from the hip, the more they get to see around them. However, what many don’t realize in order forBattlefield 5to achieve this it usesa lot of resourcesbecause players systems will have to render more than usual. While the game’s battle royal mode, Firestorm, has gottensome mixed reviewsat the start andis underrated nowbecause it is different, players who try it out with the FOV lowered will have an easier time winning rounds because their CPU isn’t costing them frames.

Additionally, veteran players won’t have any use for this setting because they’ve been playing enough to know what’s around them and how to time their shots. For newer players, having it around 90 or somewhat lower can make gameplay a lot more fluid. This is located in Control Advanced Setting with the option called Uniform Soldier Aiming, players can adjust the value they want, however, players should keep note that enabling this setting will change the mouse sensitivity but adjusting the value won’t change it after, so players should find what sensitivity they’re comfortable playing on before changing the FOV value.

3Turning Off Motion Blur

Motion Blur happens when a player turns around and the scenery gets blurry momentarily, however, while it does look cool, players who have it on will notice the downfall of it. When players are turning, they won’t see the environment very well, so an enemy will be hiding in a bush ready to pick them off. Even if players go and play the co-op section armedwith these tipswill notice how dramatically this setting hampers gameplay.

This setting can change up howBattlefield 5performs on the player’s PC because for one, it’ll look even better and players will see a small boost in frames which is a big deal for shooters. The more frames that appear, the easier time players will have playing matches. This setting is in the Video section and can be turned off by players when going to the Basic Tab, going down to the Motion Blur option and setting the value to zero. When this is turned off, players will have a better view of what’s going on when they turn around quickly and will be able to see the dangers better.

2Resolution and Full-Screen Mode

Now, this setting can be tricky depending on the player’s rig, going with the highest resolution their PC can’t handle can result in performance issues, but on the other hand, with lower resolution, going in windowed-mode, players will notice almost everything in the distance. In order for players to succeed inBattlefield 5,they need to see what’s going on around them, otherwise they’ll be picked off by enemies easily.

While playing on lower resolution can alleviate the stress of the player’s system, the gameplay suffers because all the pixels look the same, players and vehicles look blurry and players can’t make out what’s in front of them. While players don’t have to max out the resolution (especially since it’s a taxing game), they should experiment within the parameters that their system allows because the maps in are so big and players won’t be able to see where the fire is coming from. If players have some sort of indication of what’s what then the gameplay will be much more fluid.

To set this, players must go to the Video Tab, hit the Basic Tab, scroll down to the full screen, and select it. To change the resolution, players have to be in the same menu and select the native resolution of what their monitor can handle.

1Mesh Quality

Having this setting increased allows players to see enemies farther away better and plan out their attacks. For example, if a medic is reviving a friendly player, they will get shot at and potentially go down because they couldn’t see where the enemy was firing from, they won’t appear as their full form but rather a shadow. Players who are playing medics don’t necessarily have to worry about this setting since they can use a smoke grenade or thesmoke grenade rifleto protect them, but for the other classes, it does affect them heavily.

Since the maps are massive, and with so many players, chaos is a common thing. Knowing exactly where players are being shot from will change how they play and make them more alert and plan more. Increasing the Mesh Quality will allow enemy players to become fully rendered and avoid popping out of nowhere. Players can fiddle with this setting in the Video Tab by going to the Advanced menu, then to Quality Settings and setting the Mesh Quality to the player’s preferred setting.

To make the Mesh Quality even better players can play around with Undergrowth Quality, which makes enemies feel like their safe in a bush. Players that have it set to low can see them better and farther away. To do this, players need to go the same menu but down to Undergrowth Quality and set it to low.
