The Abbasiyah District inAssassin’s Creed Mirageis home to the House of Wisdom, a popular destination for Arabic scholars throughout the Islamic Golden Age. Naturally, this is a major set piece for the game’s plot, but the rest of the district also has plenty of scholarly destinations like the Observatory and the Scriptorium.
Thanks to this, the 15 historical sites in the Abbasiyah District ofAssassin’s Creed Miragetend to focus on the intellectual contributions of the Abbasid Caliphate. These sites are densely packed into a few locations, but this can make it even easier to lose track of the one or two are far away from the rest.

The Abbasiyah District Historical Site Map
While players don’t have to get close to a historical site for it to appear on the map, these historical sites only appear on the closest zoom level. The map above shows all 15 of their locations at once, which should make collecting them all a fair bit easier. Keep in mind that some of them are very close together, and so they appear to overlap at this zoom level.
Papermaking
This historical site is in the northwest corner of the Four Markets region. It unlocks a codex entry that explains how paper manufacturing made its way to the Abbasid Caliphate from China, and cheap paper helped fuel the empire’s contributions to culture and science.
Slavery
Look for this site inthe southern section of Four Markets. Like most of the medieval world, slavery was a major part of the Abbasid economy, although most slaves were captives from raids and wars instead of criminals and debtors.
Muhtasib (Market Inspector)
To reach this historical site, players must climb up one of the buildings on the south end of the Four Markets. A lot of cheating can happen in a market, and so the Abbasids and their officials appointed muhtasib, or inspectors, to check the fairness of measuring scales and the quality of goods.
Astronomical Instruments
While most of the Observatory has anti-climbing spikes, there are a few routes that will let Basim reach the roof.Before climbing up to the viewpoint, be sure to grab the historical site next to all the astronomical tools. This one explains how Abbasid scholars helped invent and refine instruments designed to study the stars, in particular the astrolabe.
Astronomy and Astrology
Checksoutheast of the Abbasiyah Observatoryto find this historical site. It mentions that during the Middle Ages, people thought astrology was the practical application of astronomy, and the Abbasid Caliphs were no exceptions.
Translation Movement
This historical site is near the front entrance to the Scriptorium. The guards won’t let anyone inside, but this site is just outside their hostile range. During the Abbasid Caliphate, scholars imported books from all over to translate them into Arabic. Books by Greek philosophers were especially popular.
Arabic as a Cultural Unifier
Players will find this site by a gazebo with teal tarps nearthe Abbasiyah Hidden Ones Bureau. It points out that the Arabic empires spread their language across three continents, making it much easier for people in different corners of the world to understand each other.

House of Wisdom
The historical site forthe House of Wisdom as a wholeis on top of the front gate that leads to the building. The House of Wisdom was the Abbasid Caliphate’s library, and it was a popular destination for Arabic-speaking scholars for several hundred years.
Calculating the Earth’s Circumference
Look for the large armillary sphere on the northwest side of the House of Wisdom to get this site. Arab scholars knew the Earth was round thanks to Eratosthenes’s experiment, and they would repeat and improve on his measurements during the Abbasid era.
