Revenant, the latest character introduced with Season 4 ofApex Legends, is a powerful addition toRespawn Entertainment’sbattle royale lineup. Some players, however, think the synthetic hitman has a major shortcoming that is hampering their ability to fully appreciate the new Legend.

InApex Legends, smaller characters also have smaller hitboxes that make them more difficult to hit. But Revenant’s hitboxes, according to some players, register hits that should miss. In a video shared on Reddit, a player demonstrated the problem by shooting at aRevenant characterwho consistently took damage from gunfire that clearly struck the rock behind him and therefore should have counted as missed shots.

To make up for the decreased hitbox size of smaller Legends and to keep the game balanced,Respawnhas given these characters a five percent damage penalty when hit. Revenant, a skeletal figure that should be tougher to hit, suffers from this increased damage penalty. But his faulty hitboxes combined with the extra five percent damage make him feel like he’s made of tissue paper, as oneApex Legendsplayer put it. Even when strafing, sliding, or crouching, Revenant takes way more damage than he should.

Revenant’s skillsetmakes him an appealing character to play inApex Legends. He can move more quickly than other characters when crouched, a useful ability in the heat of battle, and he can also climb higher and for much longer than any other Legend. Revenant’s tactical ability is a silence, the first in the game, which prevents other players from using their abilities for 10 seconds. And his ultimate ability is a Death Totem that causes squad members who interact with it to respawn at the totem when they would otherwise have died.

Unfortunately, all of these perks are outweighed for many players by how easily Revenant can be killed due to the hitbox issue.Season 4 ofApex Legendslaunched on February 4 and players have voiced their concerns about Revenant since he was introduced to the game. So far, Respawn has not responded to these complaints, but hopefully the company is aware of the issue and will address it in an upcoming patch.

Apex Legendsreleased in February 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
