Ever since the release ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsseveral weeks ago, fans of the franchise have been glued to their Nintendo Switch to establish the perfect village and live out their best virtual lives in a deserted island. Of course, one of the main features that Nintendo brought toAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, isthe wide variety of customization optionsfrom building furniture and tools and terraforming the layout of the island.

However, severalAnimal Crossingfans recently discovered a glitch that created permanent cliffs. By default, islands inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonswould have three tiers of land where players can build and explore. Additionally, players can use the game’s terraforming tool to create a fourth tier, but it is important to remember that while this fourth layer can be deleted, the game would not allow players to climb it. Now, these Animal Crossing fans discovered that the simple act of popping a gift balloon would make fourth-tier cliffs permanent.

When the gift lands on the fourth layer of land, the player would be unable to delete it, and a message would pop out saying, “you may’t modify this cliff because there’s something on it.” Of course, given that players cannot climb the fourth tier, there is no way of picking upthe gift from the balloon, and the cliff becomes a permanent monument that could ruin the overall aesthetic of the island. Additionally, the player who discovered the glitch reported that they attempted to use the cleanup service to rectify the situation, but to no success, given that the game would prompt that there is nothing in the area to clean up.

At the time of writing, it appears that there is still no fix to the permanent cliff bug. It is also unclear whether Nintendo is already aware of the problem, but thousands of users on Reddit, where the problem was posted, have already upvoted the post in hopes of it reaching Nintendo. Of course, given thatAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsis barely a month old, it is understandable that minor bugs and glitches are still present in the game.

Several days ago, another glitch was discovered inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsthat concerns evicted villagers. According to the player who reported the glitch, if the player adopts a villager that was evicted by another player via the campgrounds, the plot of land that the villager would have occupied will become bugged. As of the moment, several users commented that there is a way to fix the bugged plot of land, but sadly, there is no guarantee for success.
