When it comes to gaming onXbox, the premiere controller is the Xbox Elite Controller Series. Microsoft released the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 for Xbox consoles back in 2019, with gamers getting a variety of special features in exchange for a hefty $180 price tag. To date, theXbox Elite Controller Series 2has only been available in black, but it seems that might be changing in the very near future.

While its existence has previously leaked online, it seems the white version of the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is going to release as early as next month. According to a since-deleted Amazon listing that was spotted by Tom Warren ofThe Verge, the white Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 will apparently launch on Wednesday, September 21.Xboxhas not announced the controller in an official capacity, so fans should take the listing with a grain of salt, but it seems legitimate. Presumably, the white version of the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 will be functionally the same as the black version with the same price tag, but those details have not been revealed just yet.

If the leaked release date for the white Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 is accurate, then one would think Microsoft would properly reveal the controller sooner rather than later. Based on how Microsoft typically announcesnew Xbox controller colors, it will likely come in the form of a blog post on the Xbox website, but it’s also possible that the controller’s reveal could happen as part of some event.

Some Xbox gamers may be more interested in Xbox making a completely new controller, but no plans to that effect have been announced at this time.Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has spoken highly of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, suggesting that a future Xbox controller might be similar to the DualSense, but again, nothing has actually materialized.

This white Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 release date leak is coming hot off the heels of Sony announcing its own version of the Elite or Pro controller. At Gamescom Opening Night Live, Sony announced thePlayStation 5 DualSense Edge controller, which is essentially the PlayStation version of the Xbox Elite Series Controller. The PS5 DualSense Edge controller is currently without a price or release date, so fans will have to stay tuned for more information on that front.

Assuming the Amazon listing is accurate,Xbox gamersshould be able to grab the white Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 for themselves starting Wednesday, September 21.
