WithApex Legendsfeaturing playable characters that have special abilities as well as a few different maps to play on, one would think that the game would be the hardest battle royale for a young kid to grasp. However, one 5-year-old has madeApex Legendslook easy, clutching a match by himself and carrying his dad to victory.
Twitch streamer NewbCybot occasionally lets his young son take over his stream, hijacking the show and taking his dad’s place in the chair. Following in the footsteps ofyoung Twitch streamers like RowdyRogan, NewbCybot’s son displays an impressive level of skill in the games he plays. That natural level of skill showed clearly in a clip posted to Reddit by the player’s father, which saw the duo winning anApex Legendsmatch purely because of the youngster’s play.

TheApex Legendsclip is a wholesome example of the bond between a parent and their child, and it is impossible to not let out a smile hearing the 5-year-old make his in-game callouts. Saying things like “shields down” and focusing on his positioning, the young player clearly has some experience with Respawn’s incredibly popular battle royale game. While there is a fair amount oftoxicity in theApex Legendscommunity, the clip of the father and son duo’s victory shows the bright side of the fanbase.
Impressively, NewbCybot’s son is playing as Octane, winning the match with a mid-tier legend as opposed to someone with ahigher pick rate like Wraith. After killing an enemy, the player’s father goes down, frantically warning his son of their foe’s location. Watching the player leap to a rock, the young player engages in a short shootout, reloading his weapon and securing the win. Jumping up and shouting proudly, the father hugs his son as the two celebrate their win.
While some players may be ashamed to get carried by their children in online games, NewbCybot seems to take it in stride. With the Twitch streamer including “my 5 year old son carried me…” in his bio, players can expect to see more of the pairing on Twitch going forward. WithApex Legendsteam member Alex commenting on the clip and encouraging the gamer to go pro, the heartwarming video should serve as proof tonewApex Legendsplayersthat anyone can succeed in the game.
While the youngApex Legendsplayer may not haveaccumulated 100,000 ranked pointslike one hardcore fan, he could be well on his way to reaching an impressive point total of his own. If some of his talent rubs off on NewbCybot, the family could be racking up many more victories in the near future.
Apex Legendsis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version arriving sometime next year.
