Now, the newest report from the NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella gives a look at the first six months of 2022 with a mix of old and new games dominating the charts.

The report posted Friday by Piscatella showsElden Ringunsurprisingly taking the title of best-selling game throughout the first half of 2022 after leading several months since its release. FollowingElden RingareLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker SagaandPokemon Legends: Arceuswith the Top 5 rounded out byHorizon Forbidden WestandMLB The Show 22.MLB’s high finish is particularly impressive due to the ranking not including digital sales of the baseball game on Xbox or Switch.

Best Selling Games of 2022

Past the Top 5, the remainder of the list serves as a mix of both new games released this year and older games that continue to boast impressive sales.Mario Kart 8andAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsboth sit within the top 20 at 9th and 16th respectively, likely bolstered by their recent DLC releases.Monster Hunter Risealso placed in the Top 20 finishing at 15th with the game both receiving a PC version andits first major expansion inSunbreakthis year.
