However, with so much power comes such an extensive list of tools that newer players can find themselves overwhelmed trying to master, and a little guidance can go a long way to help them land on their feet.

Updated June 10, 2025 by Rowan Heffernan:Content for Worldbox - God Simulator has been far from stagnant as a large update recently came out adding plenty of new biomes, ores, and new ways for kingdoms to develop and interact. As a result, a lot of Worldbox’s gameplay has shifted somewhat as players are given more features, rules, and content to manage in their worlds.

Kingdoms now have more personality and rules that shape their behavior, and different races and cultures have favorite ores among the new resources that were added. Here are some tips and tricks for managing both old and new content while shaping and expanding worlds.

11Pay Attention To Resources

After placing any human, elf, dwarf or orc down in a world, they will immediately try to gather resources to build a house that will eventually grow into a village, and later a city. This means chopping trees for wood, growing food, and gathering stone and ores to upgrade houses.

Some ores, such as silver or mythril, will be prized by specific races like elves and dwarves for their weapons and tools. The amount of resources they can gather plays a large part in how quickly their towns will grow, so choosing a decent place to put the first sentient creatures can be an important step many may not realize until later.

10Land Shapes The Civilizations

For earlier civilizations inWorldbox - God Simulator, oceans and other large bodies of water are a significant barrier until they’re advanced enough to build docks and ships. Because of this,a kingdom placed on an islandwill be safe on their island for a long time but will struggle to expand unless the world around them becomes more connected, or the player makes their island bigger.

A way to circumvent this earlier on is to build or choose neighboring islands and create a land bridge between them. Some biomes may also harbor different resources or creatures that can hinder or even wipe out less developed cultures, such as the crystal biome, so players should choose their biome carefully when starting a new village.

9Most Civilizations Thrive In Forests

Having plenty of trees for buildings is important, and many cities will thrive with plenty of forest around them. Some, like humans, may want more open soil and space. Others, like dwarves, will want hills and mountains near their homes.

However, for the most part, placing settlements near forests is a must. No matter the culture, all kingdoms will need wood for their houses, food to live, and stone, ore, and gold for tools and upgrades inthe vast world they live in. Because of this, even the cultures who prefer stony mountains won’t get very far without a forest nearby.

8Check Size Tools Before Using Them

This is a simple one, but something that inevitably happens sometimes. The scale of the tools inWorldbox - God Simulatoris incredibly wide, allowing small mounds of dirt as well as the creations of vast continents in a single brushstroke.

This is incredibly convenient and easy to adjust to what the player needs, but unfortunately also means using the wrong brush can wipe out a carefully crafted landmark or mountain range in an instant. Making it a part of the routine to move the cursor and check the size preview can go a long way in preventing disaster.

7Different Cultures Have Different Traits

Upon scanning creatures and cultures more closely, they becomefar more unique and alive than they seem at first glance. As creatures and cultures alike grow and evolve, so do their traits. For the most part, the knowledge they acquire is common knowledge that all cultures will discover eventually.

However, occasionally a culture’s research will lead to the discovery of a random “rare knowledge” that will be unique to that culture. Additionally, each kingdom will typically have a personality that can affect what that kingdom prioritizes and, by extension, effect how their knowledge are utilized. Maybe an elven village will have a breakthrough that extends their lifespan, or a nation of orcs develops a unique weapon no one else uses.

6Move Time At Your Own Pace

Worldbox - God Simulatorhas many, many tools to shape (or destroy) the world to the player’s liking. While this makes for a unique experience tailored to the player, the options can be overwhelming to manage in a limited amount of time.

Luckily, the things the player has full control over include the passage of time, and whether it’s slow, fast, or paused entirely. For players who might feel swept away by how quickly things can change in their sandbox world, pausing time is a great way to regain control while speeding it up can help more impatient players.

5Nearby Civilizations Will Clash

Even with the best preparation, this is inevitable. Eventually, kingdoms will gain the means to travel to new lands, and they’re going to clash with the other life out there.

If a player wants to keep a diverse collection of cultures in the world, or has a specific favorite, they’ll need the player’s aid to stay protected and have the resources to go the distance in a chaotic, often unpredictable world. One of the best ways to do this is bycarefully choosing where to place kingdomsso that they’ll have the resources they need, and the space to safely use them.

4Some Creatures Shape The World (Literally)

It’s a given that a world is shaped by the creatures living in it, but for some, that meaning is even more literal. Creatures like worms and ants when placed will start to move around the map in different ways, leaving different types of land pixels in their wake.

For example, one ant left on its own may create a whole new sandbar in the ocean, while another makes a grid-like pattern in the landscape. For players who want a more unpredictable element to their landscaping, they’re a perfect choice.

3Knowledge Is Shaped By Leaders And Intelligence

How advanced a civilization becomes is dependent on how much knowledge they gain, which is determined by their research rate. Each race inWorldbox - God Simulatorhas a different base research rate, but more can be done to help move the process along.

For example, the intelligence of a kingdom’s leader can help or hinder research efforts by a small amount, so paying attention to whose ruling a kingdom at any time can be beneficial. While this may be one of the harder aspects of kingdom life to affect directly, paying attention to and caring for the leadersof kingdoms will give players more insight into the state of their worlds’ cultures.

2Use The Trait Editor

One of the more useful features for players looking to control specific creatures or influence leaders in some way is the Trait Editor. Depending on which traits the player has unlocked via their achievements, any creature in the world can have traits given or taken away to suit what the player wants for them.

Whether players who want to add traits that suit how they imagine an important figure, or shape a leader into the perfect ruler, their influence can extend has grown to the point where players guide all levels of the world, big and small.
